Residential Care Specialist

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Residential Technician to join our team at Cumberland Mountain Community Services Board. As a Residential Technician, you will play a vital role in providing support and care to individuals with intellectual disabilities in a group home setting.
Key Responsibilities- Supervise and assist residents with daily activities, including personal care, meal preparation, and household chores.
- Coordinate daily schedules and duties/activities of residents, ensuring their needs are met and their rights are respected.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date program records, including medication administration and behavioral intervention plans.
- Transport residents to medical appointments, recreational activities, and other scheduled events as assigned by the supervisor.
- Assist with training and orientation of new employees, as requested by the immediate supervisor.
- Act as a liaison with case managers and other care providers to ensure program planning and quality of life for residents.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to understand the special training needs of intellectually disabled individuals.
- Ability to successfully complete training in medication administration, medication repackaging, and behavioral intervention.
- Ability to lift 40 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Current valid driver's license and good driving record.
- Willingness and ability to travel and use personal transportation in a work capacity.
This position requires working in a group home setting, which may involve exposure to physically aggressive individuals. The successful candidate must be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and maintain a calm and professional demeanor in challenging situations.
