A Day in the Life
As a highly-skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse in the Medical - Surgical Unit, you will provide direct patient care and work to provide patients with an individualized care plan through assessment and planning.
You will be part of a close team that works directly with many other departments in care of our patients, and you will learn a lot about post operative care, complications and nursing interventions.
Your Role
In this role, you will:
- Provide assessment and planning for individualized patient care.
- Respond quickly and accurately to changes in condition or response to treatment.
- Communicate effectively with physicians regarding patient's clinical condition and results of diagnostic studies.
- Perform nursing duties as needed in the continuum of care for all patients.
- Participate in process improvement efforts and activities for the department.
- Act in a composed and professional manner, especially under pressure.

Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A current State of Utah or Registered Nurse License.
- An American Red Cross or American Heart Association Basic Life Support Course (BLS or BCLS) and Certification within 7 days of hire.
- An American Red Cross or American Heart Association Advanced Life Support Course (ALS or ACLS) and certification.
- An Associates Degree in Nursing required, BSN is preferred.
- The ability to articulate and demonstrate appropriate nursing theory and practice.
