Position Summary: The Quality Inspector is responsible for examining products and overseeing the manufacturing process in accordance with established standards. This role collaborates closely with the Quality and Operations teams to ensure timely delivery of quality products to clients, under the supervision of the Quality Assurance Manager.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform inspections and assessments to detect nonconforming materials and equipment.
  • Assist in managing the nonconforming material system to implement containment and corrective actions.
  • Evaluate the adequacy and effectiveness of established control plans throughout all production phases.
  • Support manufacturing operations in promptly identifying, containing, and resolving quality issues.
  • Conduct internal audits of the Quality Management System and related processes.
  • Oversee gage checking and calibration systems.
  • Execute targeted studies on process capability and gage repeatability/reproducibility.
  • Contribute to enhancing product and service quality through root cause analysis, corrective and preventive action planning, and result verification.
  • Act as a liaison for the Quality Team in daily production support.
  • Adhere to ISO requirements and safety protocols.
  • Ensure compliance with all quality policies, specifications, regulations, and instructions.
  • Utilize gages and measuring instruments to meet specified tolerances.
  • Conduct all tasks in a safe and responsible manner.
  • Deliver work assignments to the highest quality standards.
  • Assist in Operations work cells (Assembly, Fabrication, Machine Shop, Electrical) as required during workflow constraints.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the supervisor within the job's physical constraints.
  • Manage the movement of equipment and materials as necessary.
  • Maintain accurate records, logs, data sheets, inventory, and other documentation as required by the Operations Department or Quality Control.
  • Keep the work area organized, neat, and orderly.

Education, Certifications, and Qualifications:

  • Associate's degree in a technical field is preferred.
  • Associate's degree in Nondestructive Testing (NDT) is highly desirable.
  • Certification as a Quality Technician (CQT) from the American Society for Quality (ASQ) is preferred.
  • Other ASQ certifications such as Quality Inspector, Quality Auditor, Quality Process Analyst, Six Sigma Green Belt, or Quality Improvement Associate are advantageous.
  • Mechanical Inspector and ASNT (Level II or III) certifications are desirable.
  • Over 3 years of experience in Quality Control or Quality Assurance roles is preferred.
  • Experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment is preferred.
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001 standards is preferred.
  • Experience with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) is desirable.
  • Proficiency with precision measurement devices and equipment is required.
  • Experience with both destructive and nondestructive testing methods is preferred.
  • Knowledge of Coordinate Measurement Machine (CMM) operation, programming, and optimization is desirable.
  • Experience with lean manufacturing methodologies (5S, Kaizen, Value Stream Mapping) is preferred.
  • Training as an ISO 9001 auditor is preferred.
  • Working knowledge of SPC, gage R&R, and basic quality tools (check sheets, flow charts, control charts, histograms, and scatter diagrams) is preferred.
  • Must be a United States citizen, lawful permanent resident, or otherwise eligible to work in the United States.
