Marketing and Promotions Coordinator for Athletics

About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and organized Marketing and Promotions Coordinator to join our athletics team at Ithaca College.

Job Summary

The successful candidate will work closely with the Associate Director of Athletics to develop a comprehensive marketing plan that promotes Ithaca College athletic events to students and engages with on-campus and community partners.

Main Responsibilities
  • Assist in planning, developing, communicating, and executing a multifaceted marketing plan to promote Ithaca College athletic events.
  • Collaborate with staff to create timely social media content, display graphics, email campaigns, and other promotional materials.
  • Identify groups or performers to enhance fan experience and game-day atmosphere.
  • Manage a budget for promotional items to attract community attendance and improve overall experience.
  • Fulfill corporate sponsorships through on-site displays, game programs, and in-game promotions.
  • Recruit, train, and manage student workers/volunteers for events.
Requirements
  • Good academic standing with Ithaca College.
  • A minimum of thirty (30) hours of college coursework.
  • An understanding of athletics marketing and promotions principles.
  • Ability to work promotional events during evening and weekend hours.
  • Comfort with managing peers.
  • Capability of contacting and coordinating external groups.
  • Effective communication skills to work with athletics department administrators, operations, and communications staff.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Demonstrated commitment to a diverse work environment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Interest in pursuing a career in college or professional athletics.
  • Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite.
