**Job Description:**

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and assist in the construction, installation, and maintenance of communications towers and support structures and related telecommunications equipment.
  • Ensure timely job completion and facilitate a safe working environment for crew members.
  • Climb and work on communications towers for the purpose of installing, replacing, and repairing antenna systems equipment.
  • Operate and maintain hand tools and mechanical equipment.
  • Manage safety protocols and ensure compliance with company and customer safety requirements.
  • Conduct daily Job Safety Analysis (JSA's) and execute and manage, if required.
  • Identify and mitigate hazards associated with tower climbing, construction equipment, and working on or near energized lines and equipment.
  • Develop and write detailed Method of Procedure (MOP) for jobs and projects.
  • Analyze situations accurately and adopt an appropriate course of action.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders.
  • Follow instructions accurately and complete assigned tasks.
  • Recognize and report safety hazards and perform duties in a safe manner.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly work environment, adhering to company policies and industry regulations.
  • Perform custom tower rigging techniques and tape drops.
  • Operate and maintain test equipment, including sweeps, PIM, fiber testing, etc.
  • Perform GPS antenna alignment and installation of antennas, RRH's, ground kits, RET systems.
  • Troubleshoot RET systems and run required lines to the top of the tower.
  • Stack towers, install sector mounts, and perform basic knowledge of microwave dish and radio installations.
  • Lead a 4-man tower crew safely and within established budgetary requirements.
  • Ensure jobs are completed fully, meet all company and customer quality standards, and comply with COP requirements.
  • Safely operate a winch/cathead and troubleshoot GPS antennas and tower lighting systems.
  • Perform TMA Gain testing and RF noise floor testing.
  • Act as a team lead and mentor to less experienced Tower Technicians.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 3 to 4 years of industry experience.
  • Excellent communication skills, reading, and writing skills (English).
  • Good computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint & Outlook).
  • Clean driving record and valid driver's license.
  • Ability to accommodate out-of-town travel, if required.
  • ComTrain, OSHA10, RF Awareness Training, First Aid/CPR trained.
  • Experience with Anritsu Site Master, Andrew, PPC, tower mapping, and antenna equipment.
  • Experience stacking self-support towers, installing waveguide, antennas, and microwave dishes.
  • RF Awareness, replacement, and maintenance experience, including coax, jumpers, TMA's, connectors, and weatherproofing.
  • Highly organized and able to effectively report verbally and written reports back to the Tower Foreman.

  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
