Part-Time Opportunity

SDAC is seeking a skilled HVAC Mechanic to provide preventative maintenance, diagnosis, and repairs for commercial HVAC equipment at a government military facility. The ideal candidate will possess NATE and Universal CFC Certification.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform work safely and report any observed safety and security problems to the Project Manager
  • Maintain accurate lists, security, and stocking levels of HVAC service tools and consumable supplies
  • Installation of HVAC equipment and systems
  • Perform preventative maintenance on commercial HVAC equipment, including chillers, heat pumps, split systems, roof top units, air handling units, pumps, cooling towers, VAV systems, etc.
  • Respond to client requests and administer an after-hours emergency response call list

Requirements:

  • Minimum of five (5) years' experience working on HVAC systems and associated equipment
  • NATE certification (required)
  • Universal CFC Certification (required)
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • HVAC License (preferred)
  • HVAC Excellence or UA Star Certification (preferred)
  • Effective communication skills in English, both written and spoken
  • Advanced HVAC training and manufacturer training
  • Extensive technical knowledge of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning maintenance and repairs
  • Ability to diagnose refrigeration systems, air distribution systems, and equipment controls
  • Able to work Monday-Friday with occasional overtime during afternoons, evenings, and weekends as needed for emergencies
  • Must be able to respond to after-hours emergency calls
  • Good physical condition with ability to lift 75 lbs. and possessing good fine motor coordination and ability to withstand exposure to dust, fumes, heights, and confined spaces
  • U.S. Citizen or approved registered alien
  • Ability to pass drug screening and Federal Government criminal background check

Physical Requirements:

The HVAC Technician is subject to hazards, including hot and/or cold weather conditions, proximity to moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, electrical current, working on scaffolding and high places, exposure to high heat or exposure to chemicals. Also, bending, stooping, and occasional light lifting to accomplish tasks. Walking particularly for long distances or moving from one work site to another.
