Job Summary

Under limited supervision, set up, adjust, perform preventative maintenance, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain assigned equipment with responsibility for production and quality.

Responsibilities:
  • Perform routine inspections and maintenance on assigned conveyors, automation, robotics, and ancillary equipment to ensure optimal performance.
  • Conduct thorough troubleshooting and repair of assigned out-of-service equipment, escalating issues to leadership and/or senior technicians as needed.
  • Document all maintenance activities in the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) and ticketing systems, maintaining accurate records of operating logs for fire pumps, generators, HVAC equipment, and other facility systems.
  • Perform root cause analysis of major downtime events to identify and implement corrective actions.
  • Assist maintenance mechanics in work that requires two people or when operational needs demand.
  • Perform facility/building project work as assigned, including tasks such as light bulb/ballast replacement, door repairs, furniture installation, ceiling tile replacement, carpentry duties, plumbing repairs, and maintaining operation logs.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 3 years of experience with conveyor, automation, or robotics equipment repair and maintenance.
  • Fundamental understanding of machinery/equipment.
  • Basic skill level in multiple computer software packages, including Microsoft Excel.
  • Experience working with inputs, outputs, and PLC logic systems, with the ability to troubleshoot these systems.
  • Ability to travel up to 10% of the time for business purposes within the state and out of state.
  • Must furnish own necessary hand tools.
  • Physical abilities include frequently moving, lifting, and carrying supplies/equipment up to 50 lbs, and occasionally lifting up to 75 lbs.
  • Ability to stand for minimum of 8 hours and up to 12 hours for up to 6 days a week.
  • Ability to continuously ascend and descend from ladders and stairs, work at heights, and work from a lying down position.
  • Ability to operate material handling equipment, such as a fork truck.
  • Ability to write documents and reports using writing instruments and computers.
  • Ability to read information, often in small print (drawings).
  • Ability to follow appropriate safety procedures, such as Lock Out/Tag Out, Arc Flash, etc., and use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) while maintaining equipment.
  • Ability to work overtime and be available for on-call requests as needed.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Associates Degree in Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering Technology, Mechanical Engineering Technology, HVAC, or equivalent.
  • Graduate of an apprenticeship program or hold current trade certification.
  • At least 3 years of experience in a building maintenance position servicing a facility larger than 75,000 square feet.
