Job Summary:
The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) collaborates with the vaccine coordinator on various clinical trials and is tasked with comprehending and executing the established protocols.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Comprehends and implements the clinical trial protocol under the supervision of the Principal Investigator (MD).
- Adheres strictly to the research protocol.
- Maintains compliance with good clinical practices.
- Facilitates ongoing communication regarding study progress, inquiries, and issues with the Investigator and sub-investigator.
- Conducts informed consent and other necessary study procedures as appropriate, ensuring no conflict with unblinded responsibilities.
- Understands the preparation and storage requirements for the study drug to be administered.
- Ensures the study drug is dispensed, prepared, administered, and returned according to assigned protocols as an unblinded injector.
- Documents and monitors drug accountability for vaccines as per study requirements and maintains necessary logs.
- Completes study source documents as mandated by the study.
- Receives and logs the arrival of drugs, creating tracking logs for accountability as necessary.
- Collaborates with the study sponsor and unblinded monitor as directed.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal and customer service abilities.
- Excellent organizational skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Robust clinical background with demonstrated independent clinical assessment skills preferred.
- Active NYS license as an LPN or RN.
- A minimum of two years' experience in a clinical role is required.
- Ability to sit for extended periods while working on a computer.
- Must be capable of lifting up to 15 pounds.
- COVID-19 vaccination and mask usage are mandatory.
