We are seeking a highly skilled Safety Officer to join our team at the Texas Department of Aging & Disability Services. As a Safety Officer, you will play a critical role in protecting the health and safety of residents in long-term care facilities across the state.
Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct thorough inspections of facilities to ensure compliance with federal and state life safety laws and regulations.
• Identify and document deficiencies, and work with facilities to develop and implement corrective action plans.
• Collaborate with agency staff to coordinate surveys and inspections of facilities for certification in the federal Medicare and Medicaid programs.
• Provide expert knowledge and guidance to facilities on National Fire Protection Association Life Safety Code requirements and applicable local, state, and federal standards.
• Develop and maintain effective working relationships with facility staff, providers, and other stakeholders.
Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree in a related field, such as safety, health, or a related field.
• 2+ years of experience in a related field, such as safety, health, or a related field.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex information to various stakeholders.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong commitment to customer service and quality.
