Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Off Router Operator to join our team at Southern Furniture Industries. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for setting up, operating, and tending to woodworking machines, ensuring the highest quality of our products.

Key Responsibilities
  • Machine Operation: Set up, operate, and maintain woodworking machines, including drill presses, gang rip saws, crosscut saws, and chop saws.
  • CNC Equipment Operation: May operate computer numerically controlled (CNC) equipment to precision-cut wood components.
  • Quality Control: Inspect wood components for accuracy and quality, ensuring they meet our high standards.
  • Inventory Management: Properly stack and tag parts on buggies, adhering to guidelines for safe handling procedures.
  • Team Collaboration: Assist other team members as needed, promoting a culture of teamwork and open communication.
  • Safety Protocols: Adhere to safety protocols, including wearing personal protective equipment, inspecting tools and equipment, and reporting any hazards or risks.
Requirements
  • Education and Skills: Basic reading and writing skills, ability to read, understand, and communicate in English, basic math and counting skills, and ability to read a tape measure.
  • Physical Demands: Ability to safely operate an industrial forklift, certified PIT driver.
  • Personal Qualities: Strong attention to detail, ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and commitment to safety protocols.
