DescriptionESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSOff-Router Machine Operators set up, operate, and tend woodworking machines, such as drill presses, gang rip saws, crosscut saws and chop saws. May operate computer numerically controlled (CNC) equipment.JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESMust learn to read daily schedule and various styles listed.Must be able to read daily schedule and prepared Bills of Material.Must be able to read a tape measure and check parts for correct dimensions.Must be able to safely operate an industrial forklift. (training available)Must be able to operate several varieties of saws (band saw, arm saw, etc...)Identify correct parts for respective styles to be assembled.Report to Upholstery lines as directed by supervisor to assist in correcting any problems they may be having (will use own personal vehicle. Reimbursed for mileage)Must be able to communicate and relay information between upholstery depart and frame mill to help in correcting problems.Properly stack and tag parts on buggy in accordance to guidelines for maximum quantities as related to safe handling procedures.Maintain clean and organized workstation.Assist others when necessary.Perform any other duties as assigned.SAFETY RESPONSIBILITESWho is responsible for your safety? "YOU ARE"Immediately report any work related injury or illness.Keep the work area neat and free of hazards. THE USE OF COMPRESSED AIR WITHOUT PROPER SAFETY NOZZLE IS PROHIBITED FOR CLEAN-UP.Wear required personal protective equipment at all times.Always ensure proper lifting techniques: avoid bending and twisting at the waist whenever possible.Inspect tools and protective equipment before use.Learn the hazards of the equipment and procedures used on the job.Report any defective, malfunctioning, or suspicious tool, machine, or protective equipment immediately.Participate in safety training and safety meetings.Report any hazards or risks related to policies or procedures.RequirementsEDUCATION AND SKILLS REQUIREDBasic reading and writing skills required.Ability to read, understand and communicate the English language.Basic Math and counting skillsOperator must be able to read a tape measureSafely operate a fork lift as a certified PIT driver SAFETYPersonal Protection Equipment should be worn at all times within the department as well as throughout the plant where designated. Safety is enforced each day to prevent any accidents.
