Job Description

Job Title: Teacher of Mathematics and Physics

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly qualified and enthusiastic teacher of mathematics and physics to join our team at Sierra Sands Unified School District. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching mathematics and physics to students in grades 6-12, developing engaging lesson plans, and assessing student progress. The ideal candidate will have a strong passion for teaching and learning, excellent communication skills, and the ability to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Implement and support the philosophy, goals, objectives, and policies of the district and school.
  • Assess pupil needs and capabilities.
  • Provide appropriate learning activities.
  • Maintain appropriate student records.
  • Evaluate pupil achievement.
  • Advise pupil and parents of achievements.
  • Maintain standards of pupil behavior that will provide an orderly and productive classroom and school environment.
  • Cooperate with other staff members in meeting pupil needs.
  • Maintain a physical environment that is conducive to learning.
  • FOLLOW District Learning Continuums and Established Course of Study.

Requirements:

  • Must hold or be eligible for a Preliminary/Clear Single Subject in Mathematics or any credential with math authorization.
  • Will also consider intern eligible applicants.

Benefits:

  • Up to $2,500 relocation reimbursement (fully credentialed)

Salary: $60,000 - $80,000 per year, depending on experience and education. The estimated salary range is based on the cost of living in the Indian Wells Valley and the qualifications of the successful candidate.
