Role Overview:
The DOP is currently seeking to fill three (3) positions for Senior Compliance Investigators. This role involves significant independent judgment and collaboration with various departments.

Key Responsibilities:
As a Senior Compliance Investigator, your duties will include but are not limited to:

  • Conducting thorough and intricate investigations into allegations of employee misconduct.
  • Interviewing witnesses and subjects, and preparing comprehensive reports detailing investigation findings.
  • Providing recommendations to the Department Advocate regarding appropriate disciplinary actions following investigations.
  • Collaborating closely with the NYC Department of Investigation.
  • Performing surveillance related to allegations of time and leave abuse and residency issues.
  • Utilizing investigatory databases, public records, and social media platforms for data collection.
  • Testifying at administrative hearings and trials.
  • Monitoring all criminal cases involving department personnel.
  • Executing other related tasks as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in fields such as criminal justice, forensic science, or a related discipline, along with two years of relevant experience in conducting investigations, managing caseloads, and preparing reports.

Preferred Qualifications:
To qualify for higher assignment levels, candidates should have either a master's degree in relevant fields or two additional years of experience in similar roles. Preferred skills include:

  • Adaptability and organizational skills.
  • Strong communication abilities.
  • Experience in law enforcement or familiarity with applications such as Sytecch ADACS, Pen-Link, and Lexis Nexis Accurint.

Residency Requirement:
New York City residency is typically required within 90 days of appointment, with exceptions for certain city employees.
