Job Summary

The YMCA of Southwest Florida is seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Early Learning Support Staff to join our team. As a key member of our Early Learning Centers, you will play a vital role in providing a safe and nurturing environment for children to grow and develop.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the Classroom Teacher: Collaborate with the classroom teacher to provide instruction, supervision, and learning activities for children.
  • Support Child Development: Help children develop socially, intellectually, physically, and emotionally under the direction of the classroom teacher.
  • Assist with Daily Operations: Assist with snack and lunch procedures, maintain child-adult ratios, and supervise children during lunch and other activities.
  • Classroom Duties: Sanitize tables, clean chairs, sweep floors, and maintain a clean and safe environment.
  • Communication and Teamwork: Promote positive communication with parents, welcome and train volunteers, and work collaboratively with teachers and staff.
  • Health and Safety: Report health and safety risks or concerns to leadership staff and maintain a safe and healthy environment for children and staff.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: High school diploma or GED required and one year experience in general office practices.
  • Skills and Qualities: Strong organizational skills, ability to prioritize workload, deep love for children, respect for parents, and strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Certifications and Training: Infant/child CPR & First Aid, annual completion of YMCA Blood Borne Pathogens training, and annual completion of YMCA Child Sexual Abuse Prevention class.
