Key Responsibilities:

  • General Duties: Engage in teaching, scholarship, service, and patient care aligned with the mission and objectives of ASDOH and ATSU. Foster an environment of respect, collaboration, commitment to diversity, social justice, and a humanistic educational atmosphere.
  • Teaching: Provide preclinical and clinical oversight as a dentist in the Simulation Lab and ASDOH clinics; effectively deliver lectures, seminars, and clinical assignments in restorative dentistry with an emphasis on prosthodontic and advanced restorative methodologies.
  • Service: Actively participate in committees, faculty governance, professional organizations, community outreach, and continuing education initiatives.
  • Patient Care: Deliver direct patient care in ASDOH Clinics that supports community service, enhances clinic operations, and contributes to student/resident education, ensuring the best interests of the patient are prioritized.
  • Scholarship: Develop and sustain scholarly and/or research activities in your area of expertise, consistent with the scheduled annual workload.
  • Clinical Supervision: Oversee clinical activities of predoctoral dental students within the scope of general dentistry, focusing on prosthodontics and advanced restorative practices.
  • Documentation: Complete and review documentation on student performance and progress towards competency; oversee electronic health records.
  • Policy Enforcement: Uphold clinic policies including infection control, quality improvement, risk management, and recordkeeping, ensuring safety standards are met.
  • Instruction: Instruct students in the simulation clinic as assigned; collaborate with Course Director on evaluating student performance.
  • Availability: Be accessible to students for mentoring and guidance.
  • Additional Duties: Perform other responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Required: DDS/DMD degree.
  • Experience: 3-5 years in patient care focusing on prosthodontics and advanced restorative dentistry, including CAD/CAM techniques.
  • Skills: Strong communication and organizational abilities; self-motivated and proactive; proficient in all aspects of clinical general dentistry.
  • Collaboration: A commitment to fostering a collegial environment among students, faculty, and staff.
