About the Job

As an Administrative Assistant at Center For Family Life in Sunset Park Inc, you will play a critical role in supporting our school-based program, including office/administrative duties and family engagement. The successful candidate will have a strong youth development background, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to work well as a member of a team.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Assisting with daily administrative tasks, such as maintaining weekly attendance rosters and checking voicemail
  • Using translation services and creativity to communicate with families across language barriers
  • Maintaining online attendance databases and running regular data reports
  • Managing enrollment processes and creating rosters in Excel
  • Ensuring that student files are up to date throughout the year
  • Clean and organizing office space; responsible for upkeep of technology, equipment, and office supplies
  • Designing and implementing new systems to streamline administrative procedures
  • Providing sensitive interpretation services during conversations and interventions with students and families
  • Contributing to the planning and execution of special events and other community-building activities
  • Attending weekly staff meetings and other mandatory professional development workshops

$20/hour, paid bi-weekly.

Qualifications
  • Education/Degree minimum requirement: High School Diploma or Equivalency Diploma (BA, a plus)
  • Experience: 2 years of after-school program/office experience or currently in college
  • Good verbal and writing skills
  • Highly organized and able to manage time efficiently
  • Detail-oriented, dependable, and pro-active
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Strong youth development background
  • Must love children, working in groups, and being part of a community
  • Flexibility and the ability to work well as a member of a team
  • Bilingual: English/Spanish OR English/Mandarin required (Cantonese, a plus)
