Parts Shipping and Receiving Associate

The Retail Parts Shipping and Receiving Associate plays a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our parts inventory and shipping processes. Key responsibilities include verifying and recording incoming and outgoing shipments, preparing items for shipment, and maintaining accurate records. This role requires strong organizational and communication skills, as well as the ability to operate heavy machinery and maintain a clean and organized work environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Count, weigh, or measure items on incoming and outgoing shipments, verifying information against invoices, orders, and other records
  • Determine the method of shipment, utilizing knowledge of shipping procedures, routes, and rates
  • Keep all bins, aisles, and storage areas clean and clearly labeled
  • Maintain receiving and shipping records, delivery truck maintenance records, and returned parts records
  • Unpack and examine incoming shipments, reject damaged items, record shortages, and correspond with the shipper to rectify damages and shortages
  • Ensure that outgoing shipments meet specifications
  • Maintain inventory of shipping materials and supplies
  • Operate heavy machinery, such as forklifts and pallet jacks

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Ability to read and comprehend instructions and information
  • One year of experience in a retail or wholesale parts department
  • Valid driver's license
  • Ability to interpret vendor catalogs
  • Ability to use parts department computer systems
  • Good communication skills
  • Valid in-state driver's license and an acceptable, safe driving record
