Job Title: Ship/Submarine Engineering Technician 3

At M.C. Dean, Inc., we are seeking a highly skilled Ship/Submarine Engineering Technician 3 to join our team. As a key member of our Alteration Installation Teams, you will support C4ISR system installations on ships and submarines.

Responsibilities:
  • Install and test C4ISR systems on ships and submarines
  • Work with a team to support cabling, equipment, and device installations
  • Read and understand U.S. Navy ship installation drawings, diagrams, blueprints, and cable running sheets
  • Operate all commonly used installation hand tools and test equipment
  • Dress cable installations to present a well-organized and professional appearance
  • Assemble complex mechanical, sub-assembly, rack, and chassis assemblies
  • Lead teams and demonstrate superior leadership abilities
  • Work in a mission-critical environment with superior workmanship
Requirements:
  • Minimum Education: Completion of a formal two-year or more contractor apprenticeship program in a related field, or completion of four (4) years of U.S. military service with a technical rating, or an Associate's Degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Technology, or Information Technology
  • Experience: At least two (2) years of experience on U.S. Navy C4ISR installations
  • Skills and Proficiency: Works with a team, reads and understands U.S. Navy ship installation drawings, operates installation hand tools and test equipment, dresses cable installations, assembles complex mechanical assemblies, leads teams, and works in a mission-critical environment
  • Safety and Physical Requirements: Occupation Safety Haz-Mat, Shipyard Competent Person, Aloft/Climbing, Working in Confined Spaces, Training and the Ability to Safely Lift and Move Objects of 50 LBS, Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation
  • Security and Work Locations: Work is primarily in Jacksonville, FL, San Diego, CA, and Norfolk, VA, but may travel for extended periods to other shipyards in the USA and to other Navy ports outside the USA
