We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Physician to join our team at Norton Sound Health Corporation. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the development of our medical services.
Key Responsibilities- Coordinate medical care within the facility to promote adequacy and appropriateness of medical services provided.
- Develop and implement policies governing medical, nursing, and related health services, admissions, and discharge within the facility.
- Provide consultation with the Administrator and/or designee in evaluating the adequacy of the long-term care nursing staff and the facility to meet the psycho-social, medical, and physical needs of patients.
- Advise the Administrator or designee on the adequacy of patient care services and medical equipment, and report any concerns regarding the quality of care.
- Participate in an effective program for the review of quality care, assisting in the arrangement of continuous physician coverage for medical emergencies and developing procedures for emergency treatment of patients.
- MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school.
- Successful completion of a Specialty Residency Program.
- Board Eligible or Board Certified in family practice, internal medicine, or the appropriate certification as deemed beneficial to NSHC.
- Current Alaska license as a physician, M.D. or D.O.
This position requires moderate travel, including flights on large and small aircraft, and may involve exposure to latex, biohazard, or other harmful substances.
