We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Assistant to join our team at MidMichigan Health. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our healthcare team.
Key Responsibilities- Triage patient calls and schedule urgent/emergent add-ons
- Support and direct patients for consults and/or testing, and insurance pre-certification and documentation
- Perform routine pre-examination procedures, including vital signs and assessing and recording objective and subjective data
- Update and maintain accurate patient records, including orders reconciliation and secure messaging
- Assist providers with examinations and procedures, and prepare and clean the patient area
- Active certification/licensure as a Medical Assistant (RMA, CMA, or equivalent)
- Completion of a Medical Assistant program through an accredited organization (preferred)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 1 month of hire or transfer
This role requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with frequent exposure to stressful situations and potentially infectious materials. The successful candidate will be able to move freely about the facility and perform the functions of the job as outlined in the job description.
