The Munro Footwear Group is seeking a dedicated Accounting Technician. This role is integral to our financial operations, focusing on supporting the Construction program, particularly within the Materials Bureau and Pavement and Geotechnical Bureau. The selected candidate will work closely with other financial and accounting professionals within the organization.
This position entails coordinating and overseeing fiscal activities while delivering essential accounting and reporting services.
Additionally, the role encompasses a variety of program and administrative support functions, including training and technical assistance, effective communication, and other related responsibilities. Minimum Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will possess an associate's degree in accounting, business, or a related field. A minimum of one year of experience in customer service, bookkeeping, accounting, or data management is required. Other combinations of relevant education and experience may be evaluated on a case-by-case basis.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Successful candidates will demonstrate knowledge of budgeting, accounting principles, federal funding requirements, contract administration, and both database and manual records management. Proficiency in business communications and office equipment maintenance is also essential.
The role requires skill in utilizing standard and specialized office software (e.g., SABHRS, CIS, Word, Oracle, Excel, Outlook, etc.), as well as the ability to review, interpret, and ensure compliance with state and federal funding regulations. Candidates must be adept at managing multiple tasks to meet strict deadlines and possess strong written and verbal communication skills. Accuracy in all work aspects is paramount.
