THE POSITION:
The Product Development Group is in search of Validation Engineers concentrating on our Datacenter Accelerated Computing products. We seek dynamic and enthusiastic engineers to join our expanding team.

As a vital contributor to the Product Development Group, you will collaborate in cross-functional teams to deliver industry-leading products for Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning (ML), and High-Performance Computing (HPC) applications.

This role specifically emphasizes manufacturing test automation, validation, and cross-functional program management to assist our manufacturing partners in delivering AMD's premier datacenter GPUs.


THE CANDIDATE:

We are looking for someone who:
Exhibits strong analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities with meticulous attention to detail

Has experience collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders to enhance yield in the manufacturing process

Is a team player yet capable of working efficiently with minimal oversight

Possesses a keen interest in GPU hardware manufacturing and knowledge of AI, ML, and HPC products

Is well-versed in Linux and computer hardware validation

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:


As a member of the Product Development Group (PDG) Validation team, you will engage with a cross-functional organization to plan, develop, and validate test content and automation for AMD's manufacturing test program.


Key responsibilities include:
Identifying AI, ML, and HPC workloads necessary to validate/stress AMD DC GPUs

Collaborating with software and hardware teams to create and automate validation programs for a high-volume manufacturing setting.

Developing Python-based automated test suites and content for computer hardware validation.

Working with stakeholders to drive yield and test quality enhancements.

Collaborating globally with stakeholders to develop documentation, process improvements, and provide support to the DC GPU manufacturing program.

Creating data analysis and reporting to assist stakeholders in data-driven decision-making.

Leading discussions on manufacturing test program updates, constraints, and optimizations.

IDEAL CANDIDATE
Experience with industry-standard benchmarks, AI/ML/HPC applications.

A proven track record of applied Python development skills focusing on object-oriented programming and adherence to best practices

Experience in hardware validation with an emphasis on high-volume and contract manufacturing.

Experience systematically addressing manufacturing yield issues and generating solutions and follow-ups.

Possesses strong analytical skills for test creation and debugging

Demonstrates strong communication and collaboration abilities.

Is a self-starter capable of independently driving tasks to completion

Hands-on experience in datacenter system architecture is an asset

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:
A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related field is preferred

COMPENSATION:
At AMD, your base salary is one component of your total rewards package.

Your base salary will be determined based on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location within the hiring range for the position.

You may qualify for incentives based on your role, such as an annual bonus or sales incentive.
