Position Summary:
The Manager of Secondary Education Programs plays a crucial role in overseeing the daily operations and supervision of students at East Mountain School. This position ensures a safe and structured educational environment while assisting in the comprehensive planning, execution, and assessment of departmental initiatives, including budget oversight, policy formulation, report generation, and attendance management. The individual will embody the organization's Mission, Values, and Service Standards in all aspects of their responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities:
A typical day for the Manager of Secondary Education Programs at Hackensack Meridian Health includes:

1. Managing school operations, which involves planning and executing educational programs, creating staff and student schedules, supervising personnel, evaluating student Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), maintaining accurate records, and communicating with parents and the district.
2. Participating in the financial operations of the school program, including budget formation, payroll management, purchasing instructional supplies, facilitating educational excursions, and adhering to Federal and New Jersey Child Nutrition Program standards.
3. Collaborating with administration to effectively utilize facilities, ensuring program maintenance and improvements, and conducting mandated safety drills.
4. Overseeing daily staffing operations, addressing personnel management issues, and contributing to hiring, promotion, and termination recommendations.
5. Providing guidance to both professional and support staff while acting as a liaison with other departments, including the EMYL residential program.
6. Engaging with public and private entities to support program development and enhance public relations.
7. Actively participating in child study team and district meetings, including parent communication regarding school programming.
8. Maintaining familiarity with New Jersey Administrative Code (Titles 6 & 6A) while managing student records.
9. Assisting in the coordination and development of the Extended School Year Program.
10. Supporting administration in implementing disciplinary actions in accordance with NJDOE and Federal regulations.
11. Attending mandated professional development activities as required.
12. Supervising both certificated and non-certificated staff effectively.
13. Assisting staff in the development and updating of curriculum guides to meet NJDOE requirements.
14. Contributing to the strategic planning of the school program.
15. Monitoring student restraints in compliance with NJDOE and Federal regulations.
16. Overseeing student Behavior Intervention Plans and alternative educational planning.
17. Performing additional duties and projects as assigned.
18. Adhering to organizational competencies and standards of behavior.

Qualifications:
Education, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:
1. Master's Degree.
2. A minimum of three (3) years of experience in a leadership role such as Principal, Supervisor, or Teacher.
3. NJDOE Criminal History Review.
4. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
5. Proficient in computer applications, including Microsoft Office and/or Google Suite.

Licenses and Certifications Required:
1. NJDOE Principal or NJDOE Principal Certificate of Eligibility (CE).
