As a key member of our team, you will work on a variety of transportation projects, developing and implementing innovative solutions to improve mobility and reduce congestion.
Responsibilities- Develop and calibrate traffic microsimulation models to evaluate multiple scenarios and generate realistic results.
- Participate in performing traffic impact studies and prepare conceptual designs for roadways, intersections, pedestrian and bicycle paths.
- Research and interpret transportation data, community statistics, and demographics to assess the mobility needs of a community.
- Prepare and review technical memoranda and reports, and participate in meetings with clients, consultant partners, and other stakeholders.
- Serve as a task leader on small to mid-size projects and train, mentor, and lead staff on a wide range of project assignments.
- 5-8 years of professional transportation engineering experience required.
- Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or transportation required (master's degree a plus and may substitute for 1 year of experience).
- Professional Engineer (PE) license in the State of New York or New Jersey expected (or the ability to obtain registration within six months).
- Strong Vissim modeling capabilities required, with experience with HCS and Synchro.
- Experience in the NYC/NJ area and with major agencies in the New York City metropolitan area preferred.
Vanasse Hangen Brustlin, Inc. offers a competitive salary range of $92,000-120,000, based on individual qualifications, education, and experience. We also provide a diverse and inclusive culture of collaboration and innovation, with opportunities for learning, development, and career growth.
