River Edge Behavioral Health is seeking experienced mental health therapists to provide behavioral health services within local schools via the Georgia APEX Program.

We are looking for dedicated professionals who want to build their experience with a wide range of behavioral health conditions in a supportive and collaborative environment.

Location/Schedule: While our main office is located at 175 Emery Hwy, Macon GA 31217, you will primarily be providing services within the Baldwin and Putnam County School Districts. Our typical schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:30am to 5:00pm, but we are open to flexible arrangements.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide individual and family therapy to individuals with mental health and/or substance abuse disorders in a variety of settings, including schools, clinics, and via telehealth.
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments, develop individualized treatment plans, and obtain necessary authorizations for services.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation within our electronic medical record system.
  • Perform commitment determinations, execute orders of involuntary commitments, and provide crisis intervention as needed.
  • Participate actively in staff meetings, treatment team meetings, and clinical supervision sessions.
  • Serve as a representative for River Edge at community and school events to increase awareness and access to our services.
  • Reduce stigma surrounding mental health by educating school personnel, families, and community members about mental health conditions.
  • Refer clients or families to appropriate community resources to support their recovery journey.
  • Ensure a safe, secure, and healthy work environment by adhering to established standards, procedures, and legal regulations.
  • Stay current with professional standards, policies, and procedures, as well as federal, state, and local requirements, ASO, DBHDD, and CARF standards.
  • Continuously enhance your knowledge through ongoing education, professional development opportunities, and participation in relevant organizations.

Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in psychology, counseling, social work, marriage & family counseling, or rehabilitation counseling. Eligibility for licensure (LAPC/LPC, LMSW/LCSW, or LAMFT/LMFT) is required. You must pursue licensure upon hire.
  • Possess a clean driving record and be willing to use your personal vehicle to travel to schools within the surrounding counties.
  • An associate or full clinical license (LCSW/LMSW, LPC/APC, LMFT/LAMFT) is preferred.
