The Nursing Professional Development Specialist will play a crucial role in supporting and overseeing academic practice partnerships, nursing and unlicensed staff orientation, nurse residency, role development, professional governance, continuing education units, certification, patient education, and professional development.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop and deliver education and training content for all levels of clinicians, primarily nurses, at the medical center.
- Mentor nurse educators and function as a leader and information resource.
- Hold in-depth specialty knowledge within a nursing discipline and lead or oversee the implementation of new programs.
- Collaborate with nursing leadership to deliver educational programs and secure resources based on needs assessments and adult learning theory.
- Meet the diverse requirements of the nursing units, patient populations, regulatory and accreditation, and strategic goals of the organization/health system.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) from American Red Cross or American Heart Association - required.
- CA RN License - required.
- Certified within area of specialty - preferred.
- Masters in Nursing Education or MSN with post certificate in Nursing Education - required.
- 3 years of recent acute care experience.
