Position Summary
The role of the Licensed Practical Nurse involves delivering clinical nursing assistance within our medical group. Responsibilities include effectively communicating clinical information to patients, scheduling necessary tests and consultations, obtaining clinical specimens, assessing patient conditions, performing clinical office procedures, and ensuring the availability of clinical supplies.

Key Responsibilities
As a Licensed Practical Nurse, you will be expected to:

  • Accurately document patients' medical histories and vital signs.
  • Administer immunizations and injections as required.
  • Provide health-related counseling to patients.
  • Order and manage clinical supplies and pharmaceuticals.
  • Coordinate referrals to other medical services.
  • Facilitate consultations with specialists.
  • Triaging phone calls and addressing patient inquiries through the portal.
  • Obtain prior authorizations for medications and diagnostic tests.
  • Assist physicians during medical and surgical procedures.
  • Adhere to universal precautions.
  • Maintain quality assurance in the office laboratory.
  • Employ proper lifting techniques to prevent injuries.
  • Collaborate with pharmacies to ensure patients have sufficient medication supplies.

Qualifications
To be considered for this position, candidates must possess:

  • A nursing diploma or degree from an accredited institution.
  • Licensure by the State of Tennessee.
  • A minimum of one year of experience in a medical office setting.
  • Proficiency in using medical equipment such as glucometers, blood pressure cuffs, thermometers, and computers.

Work Environment
This position is primarily office-based, requiring the ability to sit, stand, and communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing. Candidates should be capable of lifting over 20 pounds.
