Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and customer-focused Customer Service Representative to join our team at Estes Park Health. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service to patients and their families, ensuring that their billing inquiries are resolved promptly and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage billing inquiries from patients via phone, email, or in-person, providing clear and concise information about their accounts.
  • Assist patients in understanding their payment options and help them arrange payment for their accounts.
  • Have knowledge of various insurance plans, including commercial plans, Medicare, Medicaid, and other programs, to explain benefits and provide information to patients.
  • Be familiar with financial assistance programs, such as Medicaid, CICP, or the EPH Financial Assistance program, to guide patients to a Financial Counselor for further assistance.
  • Work closely with the Lead Customer Service Representative to manage outstanding self-pay balances.
  • Take patient payments via various payment options, including prompt payment discounts, payment plans, bank loans, or online accounts.
  • Assist the Patient Advocate in resolving patient concerns related to financial issues.
  • Refer patients to Financial Counseling for walk-in visits or appointments as needed.
  • Collaborate with Financial Counseling and Pre-Access services regarding patient self-pay balances.
  • Provide excellent customer service, answering phone calls, returning voice mail messages, and routing calls as necessary.
  • Manage online correspondence with patients.
  • Demonstrate initiative and resourcefulness by making recommendations and communicating trends and issues to the supervisor.
  • Perform all duties in accordance with local, state, and federal laws and regulatory agency standards.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Ability to work well in a fast-paced, team environment.
