About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Estimator to join our team at Heat Tech Industrial. As a Senior Estimator, you will play a critical role in preparing, developing, and coordinating the preparation of full estimates for complex projects and services related to the specialty trade industry.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop, produce, and maintain production units according to industry standards.
  • Work with Clients, Engineers, Project Managers, and other stakeholders to prepare accurate and detailed quantity take-offs and unit pricing using established company production rates.
  • Provide value engineering as requested and analyze and evaluate project plans, specifications, scope, difficulty, and any other requirements necessary to prepare a job cost estimate and assemble bid packages.
  • Prepare conceptual estimates and/or budgets, and review solicited quotes to ensure "apples to apples" pricing, no scope gaps, and proposals are in the best interest of HTI.
  • Maintain in the job file, all correspondence records and notes for the project being bid, and communicate with Customers, owners, vendors, and trades.
  • Secure vendor pricing and select vendors and subcontractors by their cost effectiveness for each project, and coordinate with vendors and subcontractors to completely cover scope in the most cost-effective way.
  • Ensure Quality Assurance/Quality Checks are always in place, and participate in (and may lead) weekly planning meetings with estimating staff.
Requirements
  • 5-7 years formal experience in estimating industrial and commercial construction projects or experience in the planning or managing of engineering design or construction, or experience in overseeing large engineering projects.
  • Professional education and/or experience in the construction and/or relevant industries.
  • Thorough understanding of estimating and/or construction management.
  • Significant level of overall experience in the design/construction field, specifically industrial and commercial construction.
  • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent math and organizational skills.
  • Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Willingness to learn new skills and ideas.
  • Proficient with Microsoft (i.e. Excel, Word, Outlook, etc) with an ability to accurately learn new software quickly.
  • Valid Driver's license, insurance, and reliable transportation.
