We are collaborating with a manufacturing firm in Westfield, IN, and are in search of candidates who possess over 5 years of experience in cost accounting within the automotive sector, proficiency in billing for materials, and advanced skills in Excel including V-Lookup and Nested IF formulas, alongside a solid understanding of GAAP.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Establish and uphold a cost accounting framework that guarantees precise costing.
  • Generate daily production reports, variance analyses, and ad hoc reports.
  • Examine and interpret standard and actual costs for discrepancies and compile reports.
  • Revise standard costs and confirm accuracy in the Bill of Materials (BOM).
  • Conduct, analyze, and report on monthly gross margin assessments by customer, part number, and production jobs.
  • Evaluate modifications in product design, raw materials, manufacturing techniques, or services to assess their impact on costs.
  • Research and gather data to ascertain costs associated with business activities such as raw material procurement, inventory management, and labor.
  • Oversee account reconciliation for physical inventories and cycle counts.
  • Facilitate periodic inventory reserves reconciliation, assessing inventory risk, and collaborating with internal stakeholders.
  • Support month-end and year-end closing processes by analyzing inventory and preparing necessary supplemental reports.
  • Engage in special projects as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance or Accounting.
  • Minimum of 3 years of cost accounting experience in the manufacturing sector, preferably automotive.
  • Proficient in advanced Excel functionalities (Pivot tables, V-Lookup, Nested IF formulas).
  • Thorough understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
