About the Role

At Thresholds, we are seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to join our team as a Residential Support Specialist. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in supporting the growth and development of our clients, who are pregnant and parenting teens and young adults between the ages of 17-24.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide one-on-one and group support to clients, helping them develop skills related to relationships, school success, recreational activities, health and wellness, early career experiences, and day-to-day living.
  • Assist clients in learning and practicing independent living skills, such as hygiene and housekeeping, and help them prepare meals.
  • Model relationship-building skills and coach clients on coping skills, ensuring a safe and inviting living environment.
  • Document client progress, successes with medication management, and recovery process as they transition to adulthood.

Requirements

  • Possess a passion for mental health advocacy and effective communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Exhibit compassion and respect while working in someone's home, with patience and a willingness to meet clients where they're at.
  • Have good writing skills and attention to detail.
