Youth Development Specialist

UCAN is seeking a skilled Youth Development Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our Violence Intervention & Prevention Services (VIPS) department, you will work with youth aged 18-35 who face challenges and difficulties as they navigate through our program levels.
Key Responsibilities:
Identify and engage youth through community outreach and referrals from schools, juvenile justice, community-based organizations, and UCAN continuum of care programs.
Utilize UCAN's Clinical Philosophy to facilitate healing through trauma-informed services and Positive Youth Development, providing support and encouragement to participants for positive behavior, goal achievement, involvement in school and services, and leadership opportunities.
Coordinate resources and support program referrals and participants.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in a human service field or equivalent experience in child welfare or youth development/outreach.
Strong understanding of the effects of trauma and ability to operate from that perspective when interacting with youth and families.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse populations and stakeholders.
