Job Title: Youth Support Specialist

Job Summary:

The Youth Support Specialist is a vital role at Kids Above All, responsible for delivering high-quality services and programs that cater to the unique needs of youth. This position requires a deep understanding of youth development and trauma, with a focus on ensuring the active engagement, safety, and well-being of each participant in the Becoming Me program.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Establish a strong mentoring relationship with youth, emphasizing emotional safety and providing skill-building interventions, self-awareness, and self-reflective practices.
  • Perform case management functions, including needs assessment, case planning, and documentation, in a youth-focused and culturally competent manner.
  • Identify and coordinate community resource programs, establishing and maintaining relationships with peers, community partners, educators, and resource staff to achieve program goals.
  • Develop and maintain supportive, nurturing, and empowering relationships with youth, performing administrative duties as needed.
  • Ensure client safety through the use of de-escalation techniques and adherence to behavior management protocols.
  • Implement daily safety, teaching, modeling, and guidance of youth, including the implementation of individual care and behavior management plans.
  • Document weekly activities in the AWARDS database and conduct monthly visits to schools and homes, as needed.
  • Facilitate and participate in weekly group sessions, documenting outcomes and engaging in regular supervision and training.
  • Attend program and agency meetings, adhering to agency and division policies and procedures to ensure program integrity.
  • Engage in trauma-informed approaches to all work duties, upholding the highest standards of professionalism and ethics.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; 1-2 years of experience in youth development, mentoring, or life skills training preferred.
  • Current driver's license and access to an insured automobile required.

Work Hours:

This is a part-time position, requiring 22.5 hours per week, with flexibility to work evenings as needed.
