Job Title: Surgical Technologist

We are seeking a skilled Surgical Technologist to join our team at Lancaster General Health. As a Surgical Technologist, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our operating rooms.

Job Summary:

This is a part-time position working 2-12 hour shifts per week, with a schedule that includes evening and night shifts. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, a strong attention to detail, and the ability to work well under pressure.

Responsibilities:
  • Assist in the delivery of patient care by handling instruments during operative procedures.
  • Prepare, process, and arrange surgical instruments and supplies under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.
  • Monitor and maintain aseptic techniques and safety standards in the operating room.
  • Function as a first assistant to the surgeon, handling tissue, using instruments to provide wound exposure and hemostasis, and anticipating the surgeon's needs.
  • Identify emergency situations and respond in a calm and efficient manner.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Certification as a Surgical Technologist (CST) or Certified Surgical Assistant (CSA) is preferred.
  • CPR certification.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • One year of experience as a Surgical Technologist or Operating Room Technician.
Working Conditions:

This position involves exposure to biohazardous waste, blood-borne pathogens, chemicals, high-pressure steam/gas, and moving/rotating machinery.
