Laboratory Food Technician

Deibel Laboratories has been a leader in food testing services since 1967, operating multiple private facilities specializing in both Microbiology and Chemistry. Our commitment is to ensure food and product safety for a diverse range of producers, from industry giants to family-owned businesses.
We are currently seeking a full-time Food Laboratory Technician. This role requires a commitment of 40 hours per week and includes a comprehensive benefits package.
Compensation: Starting hourly rates range from $16 to $18, depending on experience, along with a competitive benefits package.
Available Shifts: Sunday through Thursday from 9am to 5:30pm or Tuesday through Saturday from 9am to 5:30pm.
Key Responsibilities:
- This is an entry-level position, and we are pleased to provide training.
- Demonstrate a willingness to learn fundamental microbiology concepts and accurately execute testing procedures to achieve reliable results.
- Utilize basic computer skills to accurately input testing data and results.
- Employ planning skills to manage the inventory of analysis materials and ensure timely completion of analyses.
- Utilize basic math skills to perform necessary calculations for analyses.
- Exhibit physical dexterity for handling samples effectively.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in manufacturing, production, warehouse operations, food industry, food service, baking, or retail is advantageous.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and capacity to multitask in a dynamic environment.
- Effective communication skills to foster positive working relationships with colleagues.
- Professional demeanor, ethical conduct, and integrity in all interactions.
- Desire for ongoing training and professional development.
- Proficiency in written and spoken English is essential.
Physical Requirements:
- Personal protective equipment such as gloves, lab coats, and safety glasses may be required depending on testing protocols.
- Ability to stand for extended periods.
- Capability to lift up to 50 lbs occasionally and 10-15 lbs repeatedly.
