Job Summary

The Senior Patient Service Representative is a key member of the Westchester Medical Center team, responsible for delivering exceptional patient care and support. This role requires a high level of professionalism, attention to detail, and excellent communication skills.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Greeting and Registration: Greet arriving patients, verify appointment information, and notify nursing staff in accordance with policies and procedures.
  • Patient Information Management: Register new patients, assist with completion of necessary forms, and update current patient information in the EMR system.
  • Scheduling and Coordination: Schedule future appointments based on procedure type, time requirements, and provider schedules.
  • Communication and Customer Service: Receive, screen, and route calls to the appropriate destination, utilize a triage system for patient-related calls, and provide translation services for non-English speaking patients.
  • Administrative Tasks: Perform general office duties, such as document preparation, scanning, mailing, and filing, and manage, train, and educate patient service representatives to continually improve performance and skill level.
  • Quality and Safety: Maintain a professional appearance and a clean, safe environment, respect patients' rights, and maintain confidentiality.
  • Technology and Innovation: Utilize technology, including specialized software, to maximize productivity and develop and maintain electronic files as necessary.
Requirements:
  • Experience: Minimum of two (2) years of customer service and/or medical office experience required.
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required, Associates degree from an accredited institution preferred.
  • Licenses/Certifications: Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and bilingual (English/Spanish) candidates preferred, but not required.
