Job Summary
Legrand is seeking a highly skilled Quality Assurance Specialist to join our Data, Power & Control Division in Farmingdale, NY. This role is responsible for ensuring that our final products meet customer specifications, documenting non-conformances, and maintaining related records.
Main Responsibilities:
- Perform first-article inspection for sheet metal, welded, and painted parts
- Ensure conformance to all specifications, customer requirements, and company practices
- Conduct a thorough visual inspection of final products to identify defects or deviations from quality standards and customer specifications
- Utilize measuring tools and equipment to ensure dimensional accuracy
- Audit production lines to document/record key production parameters
- Perform pallet inspections to ensure proper packaging before release for shipping
- Complete final inspection reports
- Ensure accuracy and organize inspection documentation as required in the database
- Perform touch-ups as necessary
- Complete assigned work within a given timeframe and according to specifications
- Follow instructions as provided by the supervisor
- Adhere to all company safety regulations and support safety policies and improvements
- Cooperate with other employees in the department to maintain a safe working environment
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of assigned work area
Requirements:
- High School diploma or equivalent is required
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience
- Ability to read and interpret purchase orders, spec sheets, and bill of materials is required
- Basic understanding of sheet metal, welding, and machining processes is required
- Previous experience reading engineering blueprint required
- Ability to use a Caliper and basic measuring tools for quality assurance
- Basic understanding of ISO requirements is preferred
- Strong organizational skills are required
- Meticulous attention to details is required
- Ability to work overtime when required
- Ability to arrive promptly for shift and stand and/or walk for duration of shift is required
- Ability to read, hear, speak, kneel, bend, and use a step ladder or stool is required
- Capable of lifting 45 pounds is required
- Capable of working in a manufacturing environment is required
