Job Description:

About the Role:

The Environmental Safety Coordinator is tasked with assisting the EHS Manager in promoting EHS excellence at the site level. This role is focused on leading EHS and Risk Management compliance while supporting the execution of EHS&RM programs, practices, and security strategies to achieve performance excellence. The position is essential in fostering a safe working culture and implementing effective EHS&RM programs that align with Corporate EHS&RM, enabling the site to efficiently identify and mitigate risks.
  • Ensure adherence to multidisciplinary groups and EHS programs in accordance with federal, provincial, state, local regulations and internal standards to drive continual improvement and maintain an incident-free work environment.
  • Assist with safety-related regulatory compliance issues, as well as aiding in the updating and implementation of company and divisional safety policies/standards.
  • Support the analysis, preparation, and maintenance of mandatory/regulatory safety and environmental reports/records through the EHS&RM Data Management System.
  • Maintain Plant SDS Program using Site-Hawk or other designated programs.
  • Update and maintain PPE Records.
  • Support Worker's Compensation loss control programs and related reporting requirements.
  • Maintain Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO) Instructions for all machinery plant-wide via Brady Lock Pro or other designated programs.
  • Assist with updating and revising Plant Safety Programs as necessary.
  • Ensure injured employees receive appropriate medical care in a timely manner by accompanying them to Medical Provider Visits.
  • Participate in Safety and Environmental Divisional Meetings.
  • Act as a resource to the EHS Manager concerning on-site injuries and illnesses.
  • Co-Coordinator of the Plant Safety Committee.
  • Support Environmental, Health and Safety Policies and Practices.
  • Lead Safety and Environmental issues in the absence of the EHS Manager.
  • Update and audit LOTO Procedures on all equipment annually.
  • Ensure all First Aid Supplies are always sufficiently stocked.
  • Become First Responder Certified every two years.
  • Ensure all AEDs are tested and compliant on a monthly basis.
  • Provide the Safety Portion of New Hire Orientation.
Important Details: This is a full-time role located onsite at our Ogden, UT plant. This role will report into our site EHS Manager.

About You:

You'll fit right in if you have:
  • Minimum education required: Associate degree in Scientific, Engineering or technical discipline.
  • 3+ years of relevant experience.
  • Trained subject matter expertise familiar with OSHA/EPA regulations.
Knowledge, skills and abilities required:
  • Knowledgeable in OSHA's Process Safety Management and/or EPA's Risk Management Plan Standards.
  • Technical EHS skills: behavior-based principles, engineering, hazard recognition, risk assessment and worker compensation administration.
  • Leadership abilities.
  • Auditing skills.
  • General understanding of production processes, equipment, and systems typically found in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with environmental management information systems (EMIS) and support software preferred.
