Inpatient Admissions Nurse

PrairieCare is seeking a skilled Inpatient Admissions Nurse to join our team. As a key member of our psychiatric healthcare system, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care and ensuring a smooth admission process.
Key Responsibilities- Perform nursing admission assessments, including reviewing and documenting patients' medication lists and completing all admission documentation in the electronic medical record.
- Collaborate with Charge Nurses regarding incoming admissions and assist in patient searches upon admission.
- Complete Nursing Admission Bundle in electronic health record and ensure admission orders accurately reflect patient needs.
- Collaborate with psychiatry to order admission medications and orient patients to their room and unit.
- Provide hand-off to unit RN and assist with discharges or other tasks as delegated by the Charge Nurse during downtime.
- Graduate of an accredited nursing school with a Nursing Degree. BSN preferred.
- Current licensure as an RN with the Minnesota State Board of Nursing is required.
- Psychiatric Nursing experience preferred.
- Must have critical thinking skills and ability to problem solve.
- Ability to communicate and make safe judgment calls in stressful situations.
- Ability to multi-task, use time efficiently, and prioritize appropriately.
- Ability to communicate in a professional manner in both verbal and written format, and models a positive teamwork attitude.
- Must have basic computer skills using Microsoft Office products and EHR.
- Ability to react quickly and calmly as part of a team to handle volatile and potentially emergent situations.
- Quality Management- the individual looks for ways to improve and promote quality and demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness.
