Job Title: Pipeline Safety Inspector

The State of New Mexico is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Pipeline Safety Inspector to join our team. As a Pipeline Safety Inspector, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe operation of natural gas and hazardous liquid facilities in the state.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct compliance inspections of intrastate pipeline operators to ensure compliance with federal and state regulations.
  • Investigate incidents and accidents involving pipelines to determine root causes and recommend corrective actions.
  • Prepare technical reports and recommendations for pipeline safety improvements.
  • Collaborate with pipeline operators, regulatory agencies, and other stakeholders to ensure safe and efficient pipeline operations.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent and six (6) years of relevant experience.
  • Experience conducting DOT (192/195) compliance inspections and knowledge of engineering principles, safety regulations, and sound pipeline design and construction.
  • Ability to prepare detailed and technical reports and communicate effectively with stakeholders.
Working Conditions:

This position requires frequent travel in and out of state for inspections and training purposes. The work is performed in an office setting with occasional statewide and out of state travel.

Exposure to: Visual/Video Display Terminal (VDT), extensive personal computer and phone usage. Communication with the general public and public agencies on a frequent basis. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
