The CNA or Patient Care Technician (PCT) plays a vital role in delivering high-quality, patient-centered care in our Pulmonary Progressive Care unit. As a member of our team, you will assist the nursing staff in providing patient care, maintaining a clean and safe environment, and supporting the patient care team in achieving excellent patient outcomes.
Responsibilities- Participate in the implementation of nursing care plans by performing direct and indirect patient care under the supervision of the licensed nurse.
- Obtain and record initial and ongoing patient information, including vital signs, height and weight, blood pressure, oxygen saturation, intake and output, calorie counts, and other patient information as outlined by policy.
- Assist with mobility by regular turning and positioning, dangling, and ambulating patients, and assist with the use of walkers, crutches, canes, and wheelchairs.
- Obtain or assist in the collection of specimens for diagnostic or waived tests, and ensure accuracy of all labels and timely transfer of specimen.
- Assist patients with activities of daily living, including eating and drinking, bathing, shaving, oral care, grooming, and elimination, and change bed linens as needed.
- Serve as Monitor/Telemetry Tech for the unit as needed, and engage in evidence-based best practices that enhance the patient experience.
- Current listing with Nurse Aide Registry as a Nurse Aide I
- Preferred experience in an acute care setting
