Position Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Panel layout and assembly, including drilling and tapping hardware, and creating label packets.
  • Door area assembly, including cutting, drilling, and mounting hardware, and reading and interpreting drawings and specifications.
  • Harness area assembly, including creating wire harnesses by pulling wires by gauge and length, and numbering labels and plugs.
  • Wire area assembly, including wiring panels using schematics for correct size wire and crimping connectors.
  • Point-to-Point assembly, including checking connection points, wire numbers, and conductivity components, and performing quality control checks.

Position Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Able to lift and/or move frequently up to 25lbs. and occasionally up to 50lbs.
  • Average manual dexterity with ability to use hands and fingers, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls, and balance.
  • Able to stand for prolonged periods on a concrete floor.
  • Able to walk, reach with hands and arms, push, pull, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl.
  • Able to climb ladders and work in high areas.
  • Specific vision abilities required include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, ability to adjust focus, and color vision acuity.

Education and Skills

The successful candidate will have:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • At least 6 or more months electrical assembly experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Basic working knowledge of electricity and electro-mechanical equipment.
  • Able to install all kinds of conduit.
  • Able to operate and use wire pulling equipment, assorted tools, and drills skillfully and safely.
  • Able to read a tape measure.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate (speak, read, write) in English.
  • Good math skills to interpret drawings and specifications.
  • Able to work independently and with others, and work under supervision of the Electrical Department.
