Job Summary

The Guidance Center is seeking a skilled Clinician to join our team in a part-time capacity. As a School-Based Mental Health Clinician, you will provide group services to at-risk youth and present to school staff, parents, and community members on various mental health topics.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct assessments and refer students who meet criteria for mental health services in a school setting.
  • Implement the Michigan Model for Health and other SEL curriculum.
  • Provide group therapy to students and coordinate services with mental health and medical professionals.
  • Facilitate collateral contacts with representatives from schools and other community organizations on behalf of children and families.
  • Link families with resources available in the community and assist with enrollment in additional mental health services.
  • Help identify and eliminate barriers to services and work collaboratively with a team of professionals and paraprofessionals within the school environment.
  • Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with people and organizations in the community.
  • Make referrals to Child Protective Services and Adult Protective Services as needed.
  • Participate in clinical supervision, team meetings, case consultations, and training as needed.
  • Facilitate trainings and in-services to students, school staff, parents, and community members.
  • Complete clinical documentation in a timely manner and develop, maintain, and review complete case records.
  • Participate in program evaluation and program development initiatives.
  • Seek consultation with the Supervisor as needed.
  • Complete 24 hours of program and/or job-specific training on an annual basis.
Requirements
  • A Master's Degree or higher and licensure as a Psychologist, Licensed Master's Social Worker, or Limited Licensed Professional Counselor.
  • Current licensure in the State of Michigan and meeting Michigan Department of Community Health requirements of a Child Mental Health Professional.
  • A minimum of 1 year of experience in the examination, evaluation, and treatment of minors and their families.
  • Ability to engage and maintain therapeutic relationships with children and adolescents and develop collaborative relationships with providers.
  • A valid chauffeur's license and favorable driving record.
