Geotechnical Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Geotechnical Engineer to join our team at Geosyntec Consultants. As a Geotechnical Engineer, you will be responsible for applying engineering principles to projects involving landfills, mines, brownfields redevelopment, and other water and waste containment systems.
Key Responsibilities:- Civil design, landfill design, and site layout
- Geotechnical engineering analyses such as slope stability, settlement, bearing capacity, seismic, and seepage
- Geotechnical and environmental site characterization including exploration oversight in the field
- Shallow and deep foundation design including bearing capacity, settlement, axial, and lateral capacity
- Developing, installing, and managing instrumentation monitoring systems
- Project/task management and proposal preparation support
- Preparation of engineering reports, design calculations, drawings, technical specifications, cost estimates, and permit applications
- Fieldwork associated with design and construction services
- Monitoring civil construction projects
- Bachelor's degree in civil or geotechnical engineering (required)
- Advanced degree in the same (preferred)
- Professional registration (i.e., P.E.) (preferred)
- At least 5 years (7+ years preferred) of related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience (required)
- Strong fundamentals in geotechnical engineering theory and practice (required)
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and related software (required)
- Experience with modeling/design tools such as AUTOCAD, Slope/W, Seep/W, Sigma/W, Slide2D, Slide3D, PLAXIS 2D, LPILE, and gINT (preferred)
- Regular fieldwork and overnight travel (required)
- Excellent writing and communication skills (required)
