About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Geotechnical Engineer to join our team in Los Angeles, San Diego, or Irvine, CA office. As a key member of our Geotechnical & Tunneling National Business Line Team, you will be responsible for developing and supervising geotechnical investigations and laboratory testing programs for transportation infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Performing geotechnical analyses and design of shallow and deep foundations, embankments/cuts, and earth retaining systems for transportation/water/energy projects
  • Preparing geotechnical memoranda and reports
  • Developing geotechnical instrumentation and monitoring plan
  • Providing design services during construction

Requirements

  • BS in Civil Engineering
  • Minimum 5 to 7 years of relevant experience in geotechnical and tunnel engineering field
  • Professional Engineer Registration
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in geotechnical engineering
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability and willingness to travel for field work

Preferred Qualifications

  • MS in Civil Engineering with Geotechnical emphasis
  • Familiar with seismic design specifications and requirements
  • Proven Experience using engineering software from commercially available developers (i.e. Ensoft, Itasca, Rocscience, Bentley)
  • Experience with MicroStation and GIS systems

Compensation

The expected salary for this position is $120,000 - $135,000. WSP USA is providing the compensation range that the company in good faith believes it might pay and offer for this position, based on the successful applicant's education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities in addition to internal equity and specific geographic location.
