Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate with driver supervisors and logistics/operations leaders to execute strategies that promote a culture of safety throughout all aspects of on-road transportation operations
  • Determine efficient and safe routing methods of transportation
  • Dispatch trucks using most efficient routes
  • Assist in dispatching outbound/inbound shipments
  • Answer inbound calls from customers for dispatching and to obtain trucking rates for incoming/outgoing shipments
  • Motivate employees to meet warehouse and transportation standards, goals, accuracies, efficiencies, and customer satisfaction
  • Strategically oversee multiple teams including logistics, warehouse, transportation, and customer service
  • Own and maintain the strategic plan for designated logistics operations

Requirements

  • Must be able to put team goals ahead of individual goals
  • Customer Service focused
  • Exceptional leadership and team building skills
  • Must be able to maintain and be familiar with safety and environmental concerns
  • Computer proficiency in dispatch software such as Microsoft, SAP, TMW, PC Miler, etc
  • Prior DOT and dispatching experience preferred
  • Two years of experience in transportation preferred (brokerage, dispatching, or management in trucking)
