Job Overview

As a Logistics and Supply Chain Specialist, your role will be pivotal in achieving the company's operational goals by overseeing supply chain processes. This includes material planning, order management, logistics coordination, and fostering supplier partnerships. You will be responsible for analyzing, scheduling, and procuring materials timely while managing inventory levels to enhance operational efficiency and working capital. You will also engage in the entire procure-to-pay cycle, ensuring effective purchase order management. Your insights will guide the selection of optimal logistical methods to meet business objectives while maintaining strong supplier relationships to support our operational plans.

Key Responsibilities

Material Planning

  • Employ various analytical tools to recommend and implement inventory optimization strategies based on forecasts and customer demands.
  • Collaborate with management and key stakeholders across different departments to ensure a consistent supply of materials to our operations.
  • Assist in managing inter-plant stock requests and necessary order modifications.
  • Maintain appropriate safety stock levels to meet production and financial targets.
  • Coordinate and implement part change notices while minimizing the risk of obsolescence.
  • Communicate supply chain issues with relevant stakeholders regarding build plans and customer needs.
  • Analyze system parameters to detect demand fluctuations.

Order Management

  • Handle purchase orders, confirm deliveries, and monitor shipment statuses to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Address discrepancies and issues that arise during the procure-to-pay process, analyzing root causes and implementing corrective measures.
    • Resolve invoice discrepancies promptly.

Logistics Coordination

  • Collaborate with logistics teams and other stakeholders to identify the most cost-effective transportation solutions to meet business goals.
  • Solicit freight options and quotes to recommend the best freight decisions that align with production and customer expectations.

Supplier Engagement

  • Act as a liaison between the company and its suppliers.
  • Facilitate interactions and escalation processes with suppliers to meet business requirements.
  • Effectively manage supplier performance and address supply chain disruptions, including quality and logistics issues.
  • Build and maintain strong supplier relationships through effective communication.
  • Provide support for supplier relationship management systems.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience in supply chain management.
  • Experience: 0 to 10 years in a related field.
  • Travel: Less than 10% required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is essential.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent communication skills.
  • Proven ability to deliver results effectively.
