POSITION SUMMARY:
The Clinical Engineer I leverages expertise to support various components of the Biomedical Equipment Services program.
This role encompasses management of the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS), oversight of the Alternative Equipment Maintenance (AEM) strategy, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
The Clinical Engineer I engages in medical equipment planning, life-cycle management, and the development, implementation, support, and evaluation of healthcare technology maintenance strategies.
PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITY:
- Formulates preventive maintenance schedules and guidelines.
- Provides training on medical technologies to clinical staff as required.
- Educates technical staff on proper testing and procedures during scheduled maintenance of devices managed by the department.
- Contributes to capital planning and programming for the replacement of medical equipment based on assessments of current inventory, technological advancements, and life cycle data.
- Ensures program compliance with all relevant regulatory bodies.
- Participates in the development of quality assurance and improvement initiatives related to the appropriate use, maintenance, and repair of biomedical equipment.
- Reports any unsafe conditions or potential code violations to the appropriate authority.
Qualifications
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
Associate's Degree in Technology, Engineering, Business, or a related field with 5 years of experience in a Biomedical/Clinical Engineering role.
Other Skills/Knowledge:Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills. Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft software. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail.

Education:
Bachelor's Degree in Technology, Engineering, Business, or a related field.
