Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will have a comprehensive understanding of various systems, including audio, video, security, lighting, and the integration of all installed brands. Proficiency in reading blueprints and other job-related documentation is essential. Candidates should possess basic wiring and connectivity skills relevant to low voltage standards, along with strong troubleshooting abilities. Basic computer skills are necessary, with a willingness to learn our in-house job management software. A minimum of 3 years of experience in residential audio video and home automation is required.


Objective:

To ensure superior service quality and customer satisfaction while adhering to industry standards and accurately reflecting revenue.


Position Summary:

The Service Technician is tasked with servicing products at customer locations. Proficiency in troubleshooting all aspects of audio/visual components is crucial.


Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Troubleshoot installed systems effectively.
  • Access customer systems remotely to repair network-based solutions.
  • Establish remote monitoring systems and enroll customers in service plans.
  • Collaborate with the Service Manager and team to identify and resolve recurring issues.
  • Coordinate with manufacturer Tech Support accurately and honestly.
  • Manage advanced replacements as necessary.
  • Assist with small projects, focusing on upselling and replacement sales.
  • Determine and collect any applicable billable labor and materials.
  • Work with procurement to ensure accurate parts acquisition.
  • Set realistic completion deadlines and expectations for clients.
  • Configure, program, and troubleshoot networks, control systems, audio-visual, and surveillance equipment.
  • Review and update daily work orders in job management software.
  • Maintain accurate time clock entries and job costing.
  • Make informed decisions regarding time and materials.
  • Provide client training and exceptional customer service.
  • Participate in on-call rotation as required.
  • Travel locally to job sites as necessary.
  • Deliver training or communication to share relevant information as needed.
  • Maintain fiscal responsibility for all assigned assets and property.
  • Exhibit strong customer service skills, especially with high-profile clients.
  • Uphold client confidentiality and ensure network/home security.
  • Comply with state and federal laws, including traffic regulations.
Additional Requirements:
  1. Flexibility to accommodate customer needs outside of standard working hours.
  2. Ability to lift and carry up to 60 lbs.
  3. Capability to stand or stoop for extended periods.
  4. Comfortable working in confined spaces and at heights.
  5. Possession of a valid driver's license, clean driving record, and a clear criminal background.
  6. A security license is preferred for service technicians and required for security technicians.
