Veterinary Technician

We are seeking a skilled Veterinary Technician to join our Oncology team at Veterinary Specialty Hospital in Sorrento Valley, California. As a Veterinary Technician in our Oncology department, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and contributing to the advancement of the veterinary profession.
Key Responsibilities- Oversee appointments and manage client interactions throughout their visit.
- Participate in patient assessment, diagnostics, treatments, and procedures alongside DVMs.
- Obtain and process laboratory samples, including blood, urine, free fluid, and fine needle aspirates.
- Utilize various imaging modalities for patient and procedural assessment.
- Execute, monitor, and recover sedation and anesthetic events.
- Provide empathy, comfort, and exceptional nursing care to patients, advocating for their well-being during hospitalization.
- Maintain equipment on a per-use basis to ensure patient safety and best practice care.
- Administer chemotherapeutic agents and provide client education on oncology disease processes.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in a veterinary hospital setting, or recent graduates with an Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Veterinary Technology.
- Comprehensive understanding and experience with anesthetic monitoring.
- Proficiency in processing basic laboratory specimens and working knowledge of radiographic techniques.
- RVT or VTS certification preferred.
- Ability to work collaboratively and develop long-term relationships with colleagues, clients, and the community.
- Positive outlook and excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Current CA RVT license or VACSP required.
